The final numbers are in, and thanks to your help, this year's event raised $43,250!  This figure is twice the amount that was raised last year, and is very close to this year’s goal of $50,000.

These funds will do a lot to support the Foundation’s consumer education and outreach efforts.  One good example of these efforts is the Medication Use Safety Training for Seniors program.  The Pharmacy Foundation is currently piloting this live educational program in several areas throughout California, and will use the learnings from this pilot to establish a state-wide bureau of speakers to educate seniors about medication-related risks and what they can do to avoid them (request pharmacist consultations, comprehensive medication reviews, etc).  The Pharmacy Foundation believes this effort will improve the health of Californian’s, and at the same time, increase the demand for and use of pharmacist services.
